Session Description

In this session, a district team will have the opportunity to be introduced to the six types of co-teaching strategies, identify best practices for using co-teaching in the classroom, strategize tips for scheduling co-teaching in the master schedule, discuss the alignment of the NC Teaching Standards and the co-teaching models; and generate a follow-up plan for district–wide implementation of co-teaching.

Element IIa.Teachers provide an environment in which each child has a positive, nurturing relationship with caring adults. Teachers encourage an environment that is inviting, respectful, supportive, inclusive, and flexible.

Element IId. Teachers adapt their teaching for the benefit of students with special needs. Teachers collaborate with the range of support specialists to help meet the special needs of all students.
