KEA/K-3 Formative Assessment Process: How assistant principals can support teachers
PRESENTERS: Dr. Cindy Dewey and Dr. Nicole Galloway, Office of Early Learning
How can assistant principals support teachers as they implement the KEA/K-3 Formative Assessment Process? In this session, regional consultants from the Piedmont Triad and Northwest will share administrators' perspectives on this work and answer frequently asked questions about the formative assessment process. In addition, the presenters will provide resources for administrators to use as they support their teachers.

NCEES: Effective Instructional Leadership

PRESENTERS: Dr. Kimberly Simmons, Educator Effectiveness

Nothing in the assistant principal's role is more important for ensuring successful student learning than effective instructional leadership. Monitoring what takes place at the classroom level will increase the likelihood that schools will achieve their goals for student learning. This session focuses on School Executive Standard 2: Instructional Leadership and best practices to ensure a focus on curriculum, instruction and assessment.

Technology Tips: Panel of Assistant Principals
FACILITATOR: Mr. Chuck Croker, District and School Transformation
Assistant Principals will hear from a panel of assistant principals on the strategies and tips they use for digital teaching and learning in the areas of communication, management and instruction within their schools. Opportunities will be provided for question and answer at the end of the session.

School Culture (Working with adults)
PRESENTERS: Dr. Frances Harris-Burke and Dr. Mandy Taylor, Educator Effectiveness
This session addresses school culture by exploring the different types of relationships present in schools. Assistant Principals will unpack case studies to explore the ethical dimensions of school culture and connections to the Human Resources Standard.

Assistant Principals’ Networking and Roundtable
FACILITATORS: Mrs. DeAnna Foust-Pratt and Dr. Monica Shepherd, Educator Effectiveness
Assistant principals will enjoy discussing with each other topics such as Professional Learning Community, Lesson Planning, Multi-Tiered System of Support, Beginning Teacher Support, and Data Analysis. This session provides a framework to seek different perspectives on educational topics.

Digital Learning Instructional Support
PRESENTERS: Mrs. Nan York, Media and Technology Director, Randolph County Schools for Piedmont Triad
Dr. Melanie Honeycutt, Chief Information Officer, Burke County Schools for Northwest
Assistant principals will learn how to leverage the skills and knowledge of School Library Media Coordinators and Instructional Technology Facilitators to support digital teaching and learning. Participants will discuss strategies for collaborating with these specialists to facilitate teaching and learning.
